Sorry, school board

I would like to formally apologize to an evidently very upset member of the Cape Public School Board who apparently was contacted multiple times concerning a controversial proposal and victimized by vicious verbal assaults, thus being at the receiving end of what might be called a crude awakening.

Vargas praise

Dr. Vargas deserves praise for supporting free speech on the university campus. I think it's great he shows up and listens to students who rally and demonstrate, even if they protest. That's good to be there to listen. As long as students and others voice their concerns and don't start doing stupid things like blocking the operation of the university or the rights of others to get an education, everyone can learn, be heard and engage in healthy debate.

Try pregnancy, man

The story about the start of the Mizzou protest is pathetic. "I was prepared to die." "Weak and had to be held up." Give me a break. Glucose drip for a rich kid with a doctor on call. I would like to see him try to go through pregnancy with that drama attitude.

Poor sources

Having law enforcement officials explain the line between free speech and criminal acts is like me writing a book instructing readers on how to refrain from reading or submitting comments to Speak Out.
