Sophomore Krista Rhodes scored 21 points to lead the Woodland girls basketball team to 71-60 victory over visiting Charleston in the season opener for both teams.

The Cardinals posted a 44-26 lead at halftime, but the Bluejays rallied and outscored the hosts by seven points in the second half.

Mara Grindstaff poured in 13 points and Cheyenne Wells added 12 points for Woodland (1-0).

Cheyenne Randle netted a game-high 24 points to pace Charleston (0-1).

Jessie Gartman scored just under half of her team's points to lead the Eagles to their second win of the season on the road in Wright City, Missouri.

Gartman netted a game-high 15 points for Eagle Ridge (2-2).

Matilyn Voss contributed 12 points to pace Liberty Christian Academy (3-2).
