PADUCAH, Ky. -- Jesse Daniel Stoffel, 72, of Paducah died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at his home from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Dan was born Nov. 15, 1943, in St. Louis to the late Jesse Patrick Stoffel and Letha French Stoffel.

He served in the Navy as a Seabee during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Guam, the Philippines and Japan. After graduating from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, Dan was a minister for over 30 years for the Assemblies of God until his retirement. He then served as a missionary in Guam. For the past 13 years, he and his wife, Sharon, have owned and operated Indian Oaks Mobile Home Community in Paducah. He loved to work, but did enjoy reading in his downtime.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Sharon Jean Grams Stoffel; sons, Gregory A. Stoffel and wife, Connie, of Springville, California, and Brian D. Stoffel and wife, Lisa, of Calvert City, Kentucky; grandchildren, Scott Freeman, Adam Stoffel, Tyler Stoffel and wife, Emma, and Amanda Stoffel; great-grandson, Kaleb Stoffel; and siblings, Barbara Bower and husband, John, of Cape Girardeau, Bill Stoffel and wife, Nancy, of Cape Girardeau, Larry Stoffel and wife, Mel, of McClure, Illinois, and Connie DeBrock and husband, Leon, of Marble Hill, Missouri.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Officiating will be Dan's son, pastor Greg Stoffel.
