The John Guild Chapter of National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution held the Good Citizen Dinner Nov. 18 at Delmonicos Restaurant in Jackson. Julie Robinson presided. The John Guild Chapter of National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution held the Good Citizen Dinner Nov. 18 at Delmonicos Restaurant in Jackson. Julie Robinson presided. Hostesses were Pam Friedrich, Kay Burford and Linda Hutson.

Following dinner, Adelaide Parsons, Good Citizen chairman, introduced the Good Citizens from four area schools. They are Elizabeth Kiefner from Saxony Lutheran High School, Sara Haupt from Meadow Heights High School, Sara Gholson from Jackson High School and Taylor Lincoln from Woodland High School. They were each presented a certificate and a check. The girls' fathers were asked to place the official pin on their daughter. A committee of non-DAR members has been appointed to choose one girl from the four whose name will then be entered into state competition.

The National Society DAR is recognizing all those who served in the Vietnam War and thanking them for their service as the 50th anniversary of that war is recognized.

Morgan Lake, state regent, presented a Surviving Spouse Certificate to Karen Kite.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Dec 16 at Riverside Regional Library in Jackson. The program will be the DAR 125th Anniversary -- Founding Daughters by Cheryl Cook. Members are to bring a Christmas ornament to exchange with value to be no more than $10.
