Hattie Elizabeth Bennett, 82, of Scott City passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 17, 1933, in Rector, Arkansas, to the late Leslie and Effie Jackson Noland. She married Verlin Hayes, and he preceded her in death. She later married Paul Bennett, and he also preceded her in death...

Hattie Elizabeth Bennett, 82, of Scott City passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 17, 1933, in Rector, Arkansas, to the late Leslie and Effie Jackson Noland. She married Verlin Hayes, and he preceded her in death. She later married Paul Bennett, and he also preceded her in death.

She was owner and operator of Mike's Lounge in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Hayes of Scott City; five grandchildren, Laura Lacey, Elizabeth Hayes, Rocky Portell, Andrew Bennett and Joseph Hayes; and five great-grandchildren, Quinton, Ashlyn, Keaton, Madalyn and Kristoffer.

She also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister; a daughter, Kathleen Bennett; and a son, Joseph Hayes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation, 1 E. Wacker Drive, Suite 2810, Chicago, IL 60601, in memory of Hattie Bennett.

Burial will be at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
