MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Kevin Ancell, 48, of Memphis and Forrest City, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015. Kevin was born Feb. 5, 1967, in Cape Girardeau to Marvin Ancell and Lena Hodge Ancell. He is survived by his long-term partner, Chris Morledge of Forrest City; a brother, Keith (Michelle) Ancell of Chaffee, Missouri; and a sister, Christy (Buddy) Lamb of Blytheville, Arkansas. He also is survived by a special aunt and uncle, Nelda and Wayne Gross of Leemon, Missouri...

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Kevin Ancell, 48, of Memphis and Forrest City, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015.

Kevin was born Feb. 5, 1967, in Cape Girardeau to Marvin Ancell and Lena Hodge Ancell.

He is survived by his long-term partner, Chris Morledge of Forrest City; a brother, Keith (Michelle) Ancell of Chaffee, Missouri; and a sister, Christy (Buddy) Lamb of Blytheville, Arkansas. He also is survived by a special aunt and uncle, Nelda and Wayne Gross of Leemon, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Elery and Delo Hodge.

Kevin was employed in the hospitality industry for over 25 years, where he touched the lives of many co-workers and guests. He was actively engaged in charitable work with numerous organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement of Memphis and MIFA. Kevin is remembered as a man for others and the epitome of a true gentleman, and a perfect example of hospitality. He had a unique ability to make each individual he encountered feel special, because to him each individual he encountered was special. To the many who knew and loved him, he leaves behind a treasure of wonderful memories that will be cherished.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Forrest City. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Church of the Holy Communion, 4645 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38117, or a charity of the donor's choice.
