Dorothy Virginia Slagle Busche Roth, 93, formerly of Cape Girardeau, was called to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, from the Breese Nursing Home in Breese, Illinois.

She was born July 22, 1922, in Floydada, Texas, to Lee and Mable White Slagle. She graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1940. Dorothy married Lester H. Busche on Jan. 25, 1941, in Jackson at the age of 18. He passed away Dec. 28, 1977, and now, they will be together once again. She married Raymond T. Roth in August 1999. He passed away Dec. 24, 2010.

She was a former member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star in Cape Girardeau. She was also a member of The Nautical Belles and a founding member of Entre Nous Club in Cape Girardeau.

Dorothy had worked for Mid-South Towing as a cook, later drove a bus for the State School and retired as a teacher's aide from the Cape Girardeau School District.

Dorothy was a loving, caring and gracious woman; truly an angel on earth.

She was an admired and respected wife, mother, sister and friend, and now an angel with God. We will remember her accepting blue eyes, her adoring laugh and the fair and nurturing heart she shared with everyone. She instilled love and compassion to all who met her, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
