OLMSTED, Ill. -- Brenda Joyce Clark, 72, of Olmsted passed away at 2:43 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at her home.
Brenda was born June 8, 1943, in Union City, Tennessee, daughter of the late Thomas Pannell and Alva Mae Edwards Pannell.
Brenda was a 40-year resident of the Olmsted community and had worked and held several jobs in her lifetime.
Brenda was a member of the Church Crusaders for Christ in Mounds, Illinois, where her late husband was a former pastor.
Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother and understanding friend to many, a helpful and guiding big sister, a dutiful daughter and a source of smiles to all.
Survivors include three sons, James Salmon Jr. of Olmsted, Donald Ray Salmon of California and Dennis Ray Clark Jr. of Bell City, Missouri; four daughters, Bobbi Jo Salmon of Olmsted, Connie Gibson of Montevallo, Alabama, Tammy Braden of Metropolis, Illinois, and Stacy Groves of Jackson; two brothers, Alvin Pannell of Olmsted and Al Pannell of Mound City, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Carr of Dongola, Illinois, and Nancy Martin of Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, the Rev. Dennis Ray Clark Sr. on Aug. 12, 2015.
Friends may call between 5 and 8 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home Villa Ridge.
The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Danny Beggs officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery in rural Olmsted.
