A Cape Girardeau man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of threatening to kill multiple residents with a machete.

Darrell G. Parrott, 54, was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon, according to public-information officer Richard McCall of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

About 10 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call from a residence in the 1100 block of Kingshighway saying Parrott brought out a machete when he was asked to leave and then threatened to kill multiple people who were present, public-information officer Adam Glueck said.

Glueck said there were multiple witnesses to the incident.

Parrott's bond is set at $10,000.
