__CAPE NAMED A BEST CITY FOR PHARMACISTS__

Cape Girardeau has been named one of the best small cities for pharmacists by ValuePenguin. The city ranked eighth among cities with populations less than 100,000, and 11th overall. The survey examined what pharmacists can earn, the cost of living and the concentration of pharmacists in an area as a percentage of all occupations, compared to the national average.

__MISSOURI DELTA BREAKS GROUND__

SIKESTON, Mo. — Missouri Delta Medical Center broke ground for its emergency room expansion on Dec. 10. The project will include an additional 7,500 square feet of interior space, the Sikeston Standard Democrat reported.

__PRATT NAMED REGIONAL DIRECTOR__

FARMINGTON, Mo. — Brandy Pratt, office administrator at Preferred Hospice in Farmington, is now the regional director for Preferred Hospice. In addition to her duties as administrator in Farmington, she now also oversees the St. Louis and Dexter, Missouri, offices.

__LAPIERRE NAMED CHIEF PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT OFFICER__

Stephanie LaPierre was appointed to the newly created role of chief performance improvement officer at Saint Francis Healthcare System. In this position, she will drive improvements through cross-functional team and process improvements and lead the system through projects to advance patient care, according to a news release from Saint Francis. LaPierre has more than 19 years of nursing and executive level experience. She previously served as director of quality and performance improvement at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. Many of her years were spent in medical management roles in the U.S. Air Force in Arizona, Montana, Illinois and California. She has served as an intensive care staff nurse, nurse manager, operating room circulator, correctional nurse and public health nurse.

Saint Francis Healthcare System appointed Liz Glastetter as director of maternal and child health Services at Saint Francis Medical Center. In this role, Glastetter will oversee the full continuum of obstetric care offered by Saint Francis, including high-risk prenatal care provided by Cape Perinatology Services, labor and delivery within the Family BirthPlace and Cape Care for Women, specialized neonatal care for premature and critically ill newborns in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and follow-up pediatric care at the Children’s Center, according to a news release from Saint Francis. Glastetter joined Saint Francis in May 2002. She worked as an administrative partner, obstetric technician and registered nurse before becoming Surgical Intensive Care Unit patient manager in 2013.

__TRUE CARE MEDICAL OPENS P.B. STORE__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — True Care Medical Equipment opened a store at 1908 N. Westwood Blvd. in Poplar Bluff. A ribbon cutting was held with the Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce.

__PARKLAND HEALTH CENTER HONORS EMPLOYEES__

FARMINGTON, Mo. — Tammy Zolman, patient access representative in scheduling at Parkland Health Center, was selected as Star Service Team Member for November at Parkland Health Center. She has worked at Parkland for nearly 12 years and also has worked in the medical records and billing departments. Cathy Miller received the Star honor for December. She works in central scheduling and has been at Parkland for 15 years, beginning as a file clerk and registrar in the radiology department.

__SAINT FRANCIS ADDS HOSPITALIST TO MEDICAL STAFF__

Saint Francis Healthcare System added hospitalist Dr. Michael Dodd as a Saint Francis Medical Partner. He joins 13 other hospitalists who provide dedicated care to their hospitalized patients, according to a news release from Saint Francis. Dodd, who previously served as a pharmacy and chemotherapy technician at Saint Francis, earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City.

__KNEIBERT CLINIC JOINS SAINT FRANCIS SYSTEM__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Kneibert Clinic, a multispecialty clinic in Poplar Bluff, joined Saint Francis Healthcare System. Effective Jan. 1, all providers at Kneibert Clinic are Saint Francis Medical Partners, physicians and providers employed by Saint Francis Healthcare System, according to a news release.
