SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. — Theodore E. Davis, 84, of Sedgewickville passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 10, 1931, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Glen and Sadie Carmen Porter Davis Sr. He and Edythe Anderson were united in marriage Sept. 8, 1951, in Portage, Wisconsin. She passed away Feb. 15, 2010.

Ted was head elf at “toys by Ted,” served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Sedgewickville Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Terrill John (Lori) Davis of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three daughters, Christine Gunnin of Midland, Texas, Jennifer (Joe) Bell of Sedgewickville and Nancy (Gene) Dudley of Vienna, Missouri; a brother, Glen Davis Jr. of Kingman, Arizona; a sister, Phyllis Reames of Midland; 14 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John; and a grandson.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Missouri.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Anthony Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories in Sedgewickville, with full military honors provided by the Missouri Honors Team.
