Sandra Kay Edwards, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born March 21, 1944, in Delta to Lester W. and Charlotte L. Griffith Tollison. She and Bennie Edwards were married Aug. 14, 1962, at Edwardsville, Illinois. He preceded her in death May 13, 1999.

She was a member of Apostolic Promise Church.

She had worked at Thorngate over 30 years. She loved to cook and be around her family.

Survivors include a son, Bennie R. (Christina) Edwards of Jackson; a daughter, Peggy Kinder of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Harold Eugene (Teri) Tollison of Indianapolis, Leon (Judy) Tollison of St. Louis, J.D. (Nancy) Tollison of Chaffee, Missouri, and Lindell Snider of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Linda Revelle of Cape Girardeau and Kathy Smith of Fruitland; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Robert, Kenneth and David Wayne Tollison; a sister, Sharon Sue Hester; a grandson; and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Timothy Lee officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
