COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri freshman defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr. is suspended indefinitely from the team after he was arrested and cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Missouri coach Barry Odom said in a statement Thursday that Beckner could face other discipline from the team.

University of Missouri police say an officer found less than 35 grams of marijuana in Beckner's car after stopping him on Wednesday for driving without headlines.

The offense is a misdemeanor. Beckner was arrested and released on a summons.

Despite missing the final two games with an injury, Beckner was selected to the All-Southeastern Conference freshman team and made various freshmen All-America lists last season.

He recorded 27 tackles, including eight for a loss with three sacks, before he was injured.
