ORAN, Mo. -- Berniece Bonneda Pobst, 92, of Oran passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Advance, Missouri to the late Charley Herman and Lottie Florence Wolf Gluckhertz. ORAN, Mo. -- Berniece Bonneda Pobst, 92, of Oran passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Advance, Missouri to the late Charley Herman and Lottie Florence Wolf Gluckhertz. Berniece married Harold Stephen Pobst on Sept. 27, 1941, and he preceded her in death June 14, 2015.

She was a stitcher for 22 years, when she retired from the International Hat Factory in Oran. She is a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Ann Sodality and Knights of Columbus Council 4311 KCettes, all of Oran.

She is survived by a son, Terry (Rose) Pobst of Oran; three daughters, Beverly (Michael) Grojean of Manchester, Missouri, Marsha Norman of Cape Girardeau and Gina Caudill of Winchester, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Berniece also was preceded in death by a son, Ron Pobst; a sister, Eula Sanders; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Oran. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. followed by Knights of Columbus prayers.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.

In lieu of flowers, family would like memorials made to Guardian Angel Catholic School.
