Jan H. Kinsey, 60, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, after a short battle with cancer at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 6, 1955, in Malden, Missouri, to James Howard and Mattie Venita Tucker Gregory. She and Richard Kinsey were married Saturday, Aug. 21, 1982, at Centralia, Illinois.

She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church. Jan was a teacher's assistant at Footprints Preschool and a 4-year-old Life Group teacher.

She loved spending time with her family, loved her friends, but most of all she loved Jesus.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Kinsey of Cape Girardeau; a son, Barrett Kinsey of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Lauren (Kory) Kitchen of Cape Girardeau; a brother, James Keith (Phyllis) Gregory of Puxico, Missouri; and two sisters-in-law, Judy Gregory of Dexter, Missouri, and Beverly Gregory of House Springs, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Larry, Ronnie and Michael Gregory; and two sisters, Sandra and Janet Gregory.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lynwood Baptist Church.
