Viola L. Kinder, 90, of Delta passed away at 5:38 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri. She was born April 10, 1925, at Scopus, Missouri, to the late Jesse Albert and Emma Lou Limbaugh Angle. Viola married Franklin W. Kinder on Dec. 27, 1941, and he preceded her in death Sept. 24, 1999...

Viola L. Kinder, 90, of Delta passed away at 5:38 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.

She was born April 10, 1925, at Scopus, Missouri, to the late Jesse Albert and Emma Lou Limbaugh Angle. Viola married Franklin W. Kinder on Dec. 27, 1941, and he preceded her in death Sept. 24, 1999.

She was a member of Church of God of Prophesy in Delta. Viola loved her church, where she was a very active member with the Church of God of Prophesy for many years.

She and Franklin loved to get in their truck and take drives to wherever the road would take them.

Viola loved to raise a garden, take care of her flowers, and she could swing for hours on the patio. Viola enjoyed the many birds outside.

She had a special pet cockatiel named Baby Bird that would talk to her and could entertain her for hours. She loved to collect and purchase all kinds of dolls and angels during her lifetime.

Viola worked in the finish department at Sports Specialty Shoe Co. in Chaffee and retired at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau, working over 40 years.

Survivors are a son, Ivis (Nelda) Kinder of Delta; a grandson, Bryan (Melissa) Kinder of Chaffee; two great-grandchildren, River King of Alabama and Forest King of Jackson; and two sisters, Flora Mouser and Louise Williams, both of Granite City, Illinois.

She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly J. King; four sisters; and three brothers.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Danny Freeland and Dan Baggett officiating. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to Church of God of prophesy of Delta.
