Marie Richardson Mize, 62, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 16, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to Monroe and Leola Abernathy Richardson. Marie was a graduate of the former University High School in Cape Girardeau. Marie Richardson Mize, 62, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 16, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to Monroe and Leola Abernathy Richardson.

Marie was a graduate of the former University High School in Cape Girardeau. She had worked for Ceramo Co. and Quality Packaging Co. in Jackson. She really enjoyed crocheting.

Loving survivors include three brothers, Monroe (Sheila) Richardson Jr., Billy Richardson and Wesley Richardson of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Catherine (Dave) McJunkins of Osage Beach, Missouri, Lois (Chris) Markham of Tallahassee, Florida, Shirley (John) Simmons of Jackson, Elaine (Mark) Byrkit of Plano, Texas, and Betty (Wayne) Watson of Marble Hill, Missouri; and a grandson, Austin Murphy.

Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Regina Ann Mize, and grandson, Justin Taylor Murphy, who both passed away Aug. 6, 2014.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Private interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help assist with expenses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
