David Carl Gregory, 73, of Crump passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Granite City, Illinois, to Johnie and Rebecca Greenlee Gregory. He and Glenda Stovall were married April 29, 1995, in Advance, Missouri.

David was a 1960 graduate of Delta High School. He had a career in commercial industry. He was employed at the former Toledo Scale Co. in Cape Girardeau. He then co-owned American Eagle Scale Co. in Tennessee. In 2008, he retired from Hobart Sales and Service in Cape Girardeau.

He was member of Burfordville Baptist Church and a former longtime member of Lake Girardeau Assembly of God in Crump.

Loving survivors include his wife of 21 years, Glenda of Crump; three children, Rick (Susan) Gregory of Glen Allen, Virginia, Ken (Gail) Gregory of Westerville, Ohio, and Sarah (Brad) Hess of Chaffee, Missouri; seven stepchildren, Gena (Tom) Clemens of Sedgewickville, Missouri, Gary Brink of Cape Girardeau, Gena (Len) Rollins of Whitwell, Tennessee, Donna (Joe) Kinsey of Knoxville, Tennessee, Billy Warner of Nashville, Tennessee, Lisa (Christopher) McNeely of Stafford, Virginia, and Keith (Tina) Lemons of Jackson; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Donald (Shirley) Gregory of Crump and Ida (Jerry) Givens of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Dennis Eugene Gregory.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson (Chapel A).

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Irvin Brooks and Paul Graham officiating. Burial will be at Proffer Cemetery in Crump.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Burfordville Baptist Church or Proffer Cemetery.
