Dorothy Marie Ludwig, 86, of Oak Ridge passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born April 26, 1929, in New Wells to Albert E. and Alma Koch Zwosta. She and Marvin K. Ludwig were married Nov. 11, 1951, in New Wells. They had been married nearly 58 years when Marvin passed away July 21, 2009.

Together, the Ludwigs farmed Marvin's home place, a Missouri Century Farm near Oak Ridge. Since their marriage, they had been members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, where Dorothy was active in the Ladies Aid and other church organizations. She was also a former leader of the Pocahontas 4-H Club.

Dorothy's family cherishes its memories of her and will remember her as a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and sister.

Survivors include three children, Ken Ludwig (Carol Longenecker) of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Marie (Keith) Ruesler of Jackson and Dale (Rhonda) Ludwig of Linn, Missouri; a sister, Fern (Milton) Hoffman of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Myrtha Zwosta of New Wells and Jackie Ludwig of Oak Ridge; a brother-in-law, George Thurm of Altenburg, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Christi (Kevin) Kuntz, Annette (Michael) Engelen, Leah (Bradley) Lappe, Amanda (James) Szatales, Melissa (Clayton) Cartwright, Natalie and Zachary Ruesler, and Trent, Claire and Troy Ludwig; and 10 great-grandchildren, Trustin and Kamden Lappe, Kelby and Cora Engelen, Caitlyn, Ryan and Addison Kuntz, Ava and Sean Szatales and Quinlyn Cartwright.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Norman Zwosta; a brother-in-law, Leonard Ludwig; and a sister-in-law, Verna Thurm.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Lawrence Bradt. Interment will be in the church cemetery in Pocahontas.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or cemetery in Pocahontas, or the church or charity of the donor's choice.
