LeRoy John Westrich, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 31, 2016, at his home.

He was born March 15, 1925, in Kelso, Missouri, to Simon L. and Justine C. Blattel Westrich. LeRoy and Joyce V. Heuring were married Oct. 14, 1950, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1943. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and the Korean War. LeRoy worked for Marquette Cement Co. and Central Packing Co.

He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1111, 4th Degree K of C, VFW Post 3838 and Elks Lodge No. 639. He was a volunteer with the St. Vincent De Paul Society, St. Mary's and FISH food pantries.

Loving survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joyce Westrich of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Sharon K. (Don) Call and Diane M. (Steve) Mueller, both of Cape Girardeau, Mary Sue (Neil) Conrad and Ruth A. (Jon) Parks, both of Jackson; two sons, John W. Westrich of Cape Girardeau and Robert S. Westrich of St. Louis; one brother, Alfred H. (Mary) Westrich of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren, Chris (Matt) Lacy, Laura (Ryan) McClard, Jeff (Jennifer) Mueller, Donny (Melinda) Call, Angie (Eric) Olson, Matt Call, Caroline (Bryan) Coulter, Jonathan (Kimber) Parks, Mike (Anna) Call and Mark (Sarah) Call; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Larry D. Underwood.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by the rosary led by the Knights of Columbus.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Cathedral Building Fund.
