Melvin Roth

FROHNA, Mo. -- Melvin C. Roth, 79, of Frohna died April 2, 2016, at his home.

He was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Wittenberg, Missouri, son of Hugo L. and Renata R. Schilling Roth. He and Ernestine Roth were married Oct. 4, 1975. She survives in Frohna.

Melvin was a farmer of both livestock and agriculture. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, Missouri.

Other survivors include two sons, Joseph (Carol) Roth of Perryville, Missouri, and John Roth of Frohna; and three grandchildren, Garrett, Brandon and Alyssa Roth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Helen J. Theiss; and one brother, Leonard Roth.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or Kindred at Home Hospice.
