At the same time Cape Girardeau police were investigating a fatal shooting Thursday, Cape Girardeau County sheriff’s deputies were investigating a shots-fired call in the 5500 block of County Road 525.

Forest Alan Kincaid, 21, of Jackson was arrested Monday by the sheriff’s Department. He is charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon. His bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety.

According to a probable-cause statement filed in the case by deputy Tony Baliva, Justin Williams said Kincaid arrived outside his residence about 9 p.m. in a dark-colored Jeep.

Kincaid squealed his tires and fired several shots from a pistol as he left the scene, according to the statement.

Williams said Kincaid may have been looking for retaliation from an earlier confrontation with Kincaid’s brother.

Baliva talked to Kincaid at 6 a.m. Friday. Kincaid admitted to going to the house Thursday to confront Williams, knocking on the door and receiving no answer.

As Kincaid was leaving the property and left ruts in the road by driving, as he described, in a reckless manner, he said Williams came out and fired at least one shot at his vehicle, according to the report.

Baliva saw a single bullet hole in the rear driver’s-side fender of Kincaid’s vehicle.

Kincaid said he later came back to the house in the 5500 block of County Road 525, admitting to “spray bombing” Williams’ truck by vandalizing it with spray paint.

He said he then fired five shots from his .22 pistol as he left the scene.
