William "Bill" Arthur Keehn, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 1, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Batavia, New York, to William and Wyla (Brininstool) Keehn.

He had an older sister, Ruth Miller.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 as an aviation ordnance man in the Pacific Theatre.

During his naval training he met the "love of his life." He and Carol McCune were married Dec. 12, 1944, at Kansas City, Missouri.

He worked in the commercial glass business for his entire career, still working well into his 80s.

After the war, Bill and Carol made their home in Prairie Village, Kansas, and then for 50 years in Overland Park, Kansas.

He was a member of Village Presbyterian Church while in Prairie Village and then Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his daughter, Sherry (Gary) Brookover of Cape Girardeau, and grandchildren, Amy and John Brookover.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister; and wife, Carol, on Nov. 2, 2009.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Centenary United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. David Conley officiating.

Final resting place will be at Cape County Memorial Park at a later date.

Memorial donations may be given to Centenary United Methodist Church or Freedom Honor Flight, P.O. Box 505, LaCrosse, WI 54602-0505.
