Regarding the story "15-foot-tall sculpture in the middle of the Fountain Street roundabout": So very not smart! There should be nothing blocking the view of the traffic in the roundabout! Roundabouts only work when the drivers can see the traffic and time their entry into roundabouts. Certainly, the driver should not be distracted by any stupid statue when making the critical decision to merge...

There should be nothing blocking the view of the traffic in the roundabout! Roundabouts only work when the drivers can see the traffic and time their entry into roundabouts. Certainly, the driver should not be distracted by any stupid statue when making the critical decision to merge.

A motorcyclist will be hidden behind that stupid statue and will likely get smashed.

I squashed a similar proposal to put tall native prairie grass in the Lexington Avenue roundabout. That was a stupid idea, too!
