CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- Georgia Wilson, 85, of Carterville, formerly of Olive Branch, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 20, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri. She was born July 3, 1930, in Mounds, Illinois, to Clarence and Vurel (Beegle) McClellan. She married Paul Wilson on Oct. 22, 1976. He preceded her in death July 21, 2000...

CARTERVILLE, Ill. -- Georgia Wilson, 85, of Carterville, formerly of Olive Branch, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 20, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.

She was born July 3, 1930, in Mounds, Illinois, to Clarence and Vurel (Beegle) McClellan. She married Paul Wilson on Oct. 22, 1976. He preceded her in death July 21, 2000.

Georgia worked for 19 years for the United States Department of Agriculture and retired from Choate Mental Health after 17 years as an LPN.

She was a volunteer at Dodge Memorial Library in Olive Branch and was a member of the Union County Hospital Senior Circle.

She is survived by her children, Brenda (Kenton) Martin of Cape Girardeau, Steve (Sandra) Miller of Carterville and Norma (Joe) Spurlock of Dongola, Illinois; her grandchildren, Steven (Armanda) Miller of Carterville, Brandon (Kinsey) Martin of Jackson, Rebecca (Rob) Lannom of Anna, Illinois, Richard (Beth Ann) Wilson of Anna and Ann Marie (Jeremy) Baker of Lees Summit, Missouri; as well as her great-grandchildren, Cole and Carter Lannom, Rilyn, Annabelle and Bailyn Martin, Braedon and Graeson Miller, Connor Fleming and Alexander and Silas Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Richard Wilson.

Private graveside services for Georgia Wilson were held Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, Illinois, with Steven Miller officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
