Barbara Glackin will join Southeast Missouri State University as the dean of Kent Library. When she begins July 18, she will replace Catherine Roeder, who served in the interim after David Starrett stepped down. Before joining the university, Glackin was assistant university librarian for resource services and technology and associate professor at the Branford P. Millar library at Portland State University.

Melinda Arnold

Melinda Arnold has been named the new director of development at Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri. Her duties will include stimulating financial support for the organization, cultivating community awareness and strengthening relationships with Catholic parishes of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau, churches of other denominations and other social-service organization partners. Arnold has a professional background in not-for-profit leadership, having spent 21 years as the marketing director for Friends of the Zoo at Springfield's Dickerson Park Zoo.

Gary L. Howard Jr.

Gary L. Howard Jr. has been promoted to market president over the commercial-lending team at U.S. Bank. Howard will supervise the commercial team and business development in the Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Sikeston, Marble Hill, Perryville, and Ste. Genevieve markets in Southeast Missouri. Howard has been with the company since 2011, most recently as a credit analyst manager. He is based in the U.S. Bank Kingshighway location in Cape Girardeau.
