Nick Hendricks of Marble Hill, Missouri, has withdrawn from the August primary election race for county commissioner in Bollinger County.

Hendricks posted a Facebook message over the weekend announcing the withdrawal and stating he is leaving because he plans to relocate to take a new job.

"I am very excited because this is a tremendous offer and what I believe to be the best decision for my family and me," Hendricks wrote. "However, at the same time, I am sad because we are leaving behind everything and everyone we have ever known.

"I believe that there are great things in store for this area and many great people willing to step up and do the work."

Hendricks' departure leaves Roy Garner of Marble Hill and Leo Arnzen of Leopold, Missouri, as the only Republicans in the race for second-district commissioner.
