The Charleston Riverdogs baseball team split a pair of Mon-Clair League games Sunday against the host St. Louis Printers.

The Riverdogs won 13-8 in Game 1 before dropping an 11-10 decision in Game 2.

Ethan Borrowman had four of Charleston's 17 hits in the first game, while Spencer Sander and Brad Potts each added three hits.

Former Cape Girardeau Central standout Josh Morse went the distance to pick up the win on the mound. He allowed five earned runs on eight hits.

Chase Young had three hits and homered in Game 2, but it wasn't enough to propel the Riverdogs to victory. Borrowman, Sander, DJ Dowdy, Blake Gaddis and Ian Householder each recorded a pair of hits for Charleston, which combined for 16 in the loss.

Riverdogs starter Joe Elfrink went the distance and was tagged with the pitching loss, allowing six earned runs on 11 hits.

Charleston improves its record to 8-6 overall and 6-6 in league play.

The Riverdogs return to action at 1:30 p.m. Saturday against Edwardsville, Illinois, at Saxony Lutheran High School.
