ADVANCE, Mo. -- Shirley Ann Vance, 75, of Advance passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 20, 1940, in Cape Girardeau to the late John and Grace Vaugh McLemore. She married Billy Dean Vance on Dec. 15, 1956, and he survives.

Shirley retired as a quality-control supervisor for Chaffee Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee, Missouri, after 27 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delta, where she was a Sunday-school teacher for many years. She was a volunteer at Teen Challenge in Cape Girardeau and also volunteered at Southeast Hospital's outpatient waiting room.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Vance; a son, Tim (Celine) Vance of Kelso, Missouri; a daughter, Lana (Marvin) Magill of Ashland, Missouri; a brother, Don (Erna) McLemore of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Michelle) Vance, Elliott (Carrie) Vance, Katelyn (Michael) Martin, Trenton Vance, Allison Magill, Logan Magill and Austin Magill; and six great-grandchildren, Vivian Vance, Carter Vance, Ryleigh Vance, Elliana Vance, Madelyn Vance and Stella Martin.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Dean Vance Jr.; three sisters, Bessie Kynion, Betty Green and Wanda King; and two brothers, Bob and Chuck McLemore.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
