Mary E. "Suzie" Tripp, 64, of Jackson died Monday, June 20, 2016, at her home.
She was born Dec. 28, 1951, in Cape Girardeau to Harold Robert and Betty Jean Chancellor Pruitt Sr.
She and Carl J. Tripp were married Jan. 23, 2004, at Hollister, Missouri.
Suzie was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. She was past president of the Jefferson City VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary and had served as senior vice president of VFW District 1. She had been a life member of Post 3838 Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of American Legion Post 158 Ladies Auxiliary in Jackson, DAV Chapter 16 Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society and had been president of COA in Hollister for two years. She also had worked as a nurse's assistant.
Survivors include her husband, Carl J. Tripp of Jackson; a son, Robert Blackwell of McClure, Illinois; two daughters, April Craig of St. Mary, Missouri, and Traci (Jonas) Graham of Gainesville, Florida; three brothers, Kenneth (Rose) Pruitt of Arnold, Missouri, and George W. (Millie) Pruitt and Michael Pruitt, both of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lisa Marie Stewart of Commerce, Missouri, and Pamela (Keith) Slattery of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Jessica Blackwell of Cape Girardeau and Brittaney, Jake and Gavin Graham, all of Gainesville; a great-grandchild, Brooklyn Blackwell of Cape Girardeau; a brother-in-law, Cliff (Donna) Tripp of Gaston, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Sharon (Dale) Hecht of Jackson; and a special friend, Cathy King of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
