The FCE Lamplighter club met June 16 at the Mayfield Cultural Center in Marble Hill, Missouri. Members enjoyed lunch, had a short business meeting, a birthday gift exchange and a tour of the center.
JoAnn Hahs called the meeting to order. The devotion was given by Hahs and was titled "Fragrance of Beauty." Roll call was a secret pal birthday gift exchange.
Linda Sebaugh gave the treasurer's report, stating that $170 was sent to Missouri Veterans Home as a donation for the Fourth of July fireworks. Also, a check for $150 was sent to Brynn Meyers for Girls State.
Verla Mangels and Hahs gave a report on the Council Meeting, stating that there would be revisions in the county reporting form. Also, people are needed for state offices.
At the autism sew day on June 7 there were 30 blankets, 12 lap tops and seven shoulder straps completed. These items were taken to the Autism Center at Southeast Missouri State University.
Karen Eakers delivered 59 books donated by club members for Day of the Family. There were books for newborns and school-age children.
July 15 is the deadline for First Timer Scholarships to the state conference. July 14 through 17 is the National FCE Conference in Memphis, Tennessee.
The next meeting will be in the home of Karen Eakers at 7 p.m., July 21. "Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate" will be the program presented by Sebaugh.
