Angela Seabaugh of Jackson was employee of the month for June at Mondi Jackson Inc. Seabaugh, a buyer, has worked at Mondi since July 9, 2012. Mondi Jackson also recognizes the following employment anniversaries: Kenneth Hobeck, Michael Pohlman and Lee Randol, 25 years of service; and Danny Borgfield, David Wills and Jeff Campbell, 20 years.

__TUCKER NAMED CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE__

SIKESTON, Mo. — Tammy Tucker was named to the position of customer service representative/mortgage processor/association support at the Sikeston branch of Progressive Farm Credit Services. She has 18 years of Farm Credit experience, according to a news release. She started her Farm Credit career at Progressive Farm Credit Services, serving four years as a customer service representative in the Kennett, Missouri, branch. She then transferred to Farm Credit Midsouth in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where she held the positions of CSR, customer service team leader and, most recently, lending services coordinator. She also has served as a leader in key technology/operations initiatives at Midsouth.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Austin Sutton was hired to the lending staff at First Midwest Bank of Poplar Bluff. He lives in Poplar Bluff and will serve as vice president/commercial loan officer at the bank’s primary facility at 704 N. Westwood Blvd.

__PENNINGTON JOINS MAYSON CAPITAL__

Wendy Pennington joined Mayson Capital Partners LLC as vice president of finance. Before joining the private investment firm, Pennington was employed by a dry corn ingredient manufacturer and worldwide supplier to food and beverage companies. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Southeast Missouri State University. She also is treasurer for the Village of Kelso.

__HENDRICKSON EARNS MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR PRODUCER AWARD__

Jennifer Hendrickson, business broker and owner of the Murphy Business office in Cape Girardeau, was recognized by Murphy as a Multi-Million Dollar Producer for the second year in a row. The award was presented at the Murphy Business annual conference in Reno, Nevada. It recognizes business brokers whose total transaction values surpassed $2 million in 2015. Of more than 350 brokers in the network, only 27 received the award.

__BARKE NAMED DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS__

Brady Barke, who had been serving as interim director of athletics since July 2015, was named to the permanent position of director of athletics at Southeast Missouri State University on June 7. He was among three finalists and more than 50 applicants for the position following a national search conducted by a committee including representatives from the faculty, staff, students and the community, according to a news release from the university. Barke, senior associate to the president and secretary to the board of regents at Southeast, officially began his new role July 1. He replaces Mark Alnutt, who resigned in July 2015 to accept a position at the University of Memphis. Barke began his tenure at Southeast in 2008 as assistant director of athletics for compliance and eligibility.

__PRESSON EARNS TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD__

Janet Presson received a Teacher of the Year Award from the Encore Music Club, an organization that is part of the National Federation of Music Clubs. Presson is the director of Keyboards & Kindermusik Conservatory in Cape Girardeau. Her students have earned more than 200 Gold Cup Awards at the Junior Music Festival since she started sending students. Presson holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree.

__FOUR RETIRE FROM MINERAL AREA COLLEGE__

PARK HILLS, Mo. — Mineral Area College announced the retirement of four staff members. Lisa Clauser, payroll coordinator, is retiring after nearly 32 years with the college. She joined the college part time in October 1984 and went full time in July 1985. Kay Crecelius, dean of the college’s arts and sciences division and the chief academic officer, also is retiring. She lives in Farmington, Missouri, came to Mineral Area College as an adjunct instructor in 1989, transitioned to a full-time instructor in 1997 and has served as dean since 2006. Charlene Jansen, an EMS educator, also has retired. She joined the college in 2011 after serving as EMS program coordinator at St. Louis Community College for nearly 10 years. She retired from the St. Louis Fire Department as the EMS training officer in 2000. She also has worked at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in the emergency department and trauma division. Dr. Fred Nute of Farmington served as professor of social sciences at Mineral Area College for nearly 35 years. Before joining the college in 1981, he worked as a clinical psychologist at Farmington State Hospital, now known as Southeast Missouri Mental Health.

__HAM, SEWARD RETIRE FROM US BANK__

U.S. Bank in Cape Girardeau announced the retirement of commercial banking relationship manager Jim Ham and banker Barbara Seward. Ham worked at U.S. Bank for 18 years and Seward has served the company for 17 years. They both retired on June 30.

__LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE MEMBERS TRAVEL TO D.C.__

Members of the Delta Leadership Institute’s Executive Academy met in June with members of Congress and federal officials in Washington, D.C., to discuss issues affecting the Mississippi River Delta region. Job creation, workforce training and small business growth were all on the agenda, according to a news release. The DLI Executive Academy is a yearlong program for community leaders across the region. It teaches leadership skills and encourages fellows to collaborate across state and local borders to address the challenges of the region, the release stated. Southeast Missouri-area members attending were Penny Davis-McGath of Poplar Bluff, Doug Friend of Fredericktown, Maude Harris of Benton, Rachelle Johnson of Charleston, Kristopher Klaus of Perryville and Margaret Yates of Perryville.

MALDEN, Mo. — Devin Busby, an agent at Byrum, Culp, Davis & Dell Insurance in Malden, earned the On Your Side Farm Certification designation from Nationwide. Busby completed a certification program and must uphold education and service commitments to retain certification.

__MINERAL AREA COLLEGE HIRES THREE__

PARK HILLS, Mo. — Sarah Dement of Farmington, Missouri, was hired as payroll coordinator in the human resources department at Mineral Area College. She previously worked as an accountant at Lee Mechanical Contractors Inc., an office manager and bookkeeper at Music Makers LLC and an accountant at Crown Valley Winery and Crown Valley Champagne House. Additionally, Amy Zuellig of Potosi, Missouri, joined the college’s Allied Health faculty as a full-time EMS educator. She has been working at the college as an adjunct instructor for the EMT and paramedic programs since 2012, becoming a primary instructor for the evening EMT class in 2014. She also is working toward her bachelor’s degree in health science and has worked as a full-time paramedic at North Crawford County Ambulance District since 2011. She is a STARS coordinator through Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, where she helps teach continuing education classes, and also is employed part-time at Washington County Ambulance District as a paramedic. Quntazi Lashaul Dominique Jones, originally of Malden, Missouri, joined Mineral Area College’s District Police Department as a police officer. He also is a firefighter with Wolf Creek Fire Association. He comes to the college after working as a corporal in Caruthersville, Missouri, and previously worked as a patrolman in Malden.

__BERGHOFF, SEGRAVES ATTEND SANDALS WORKSHOP__

Susan Berghoff and Leigh Segraves of 1st Class Travel in Cape Girardeau recently attended the “Game On!” Certified Sandals Specialist Workshop 2016. The Certified Sandals Specialist Programs are designed to benefit travel agencies and agents with an ongoing process of product education, resources and sales and marketing support, according to a news release. To become a Certified Sandals Specialist, agents must complete a four-hour workshop that offers detailed information on all of the company’s resorts and amenities. These agents receive customized service, sales and educational support.

Several consultants with the Jana Jateff unit of Mary Kay Cosmetics in Cape Girardeau were honored recently during a quarterly awards night. Jateff herself was honored as a pearl start for the quarter. Chanel Tucker was promoted to senior consultant and honored for doing 30 faces in 30 days. Joy Duprey was recognized as a new consultant and Rachel Cobb was recognized as a new beauty consultant.

__HOGGARD PROMOTED TO DEAN OF INSTRUCTION__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Justin Hoggard was promoted to dean of instruction at Three Rivers College. He is responsible for all of the college’s for-credit academic and career education classes, effective July 1. Hoggard previously was chair of the social sciences department and Title III director.

Tara Holyfield was promoted to branch manager at First State Community Bank’s Broadview location at 2527 William St. in Cape Girardeau. She has worked at the bank since 2010 and has more than 12 years of banking experience. Additionally, Liz Hillier was promoted to branch manager at the Kingshighway location in Cape Girardeau. She has worked at the bank for three years and has more than 29 years of banking experience. Both changes in management were effective July 1. Construction on the Broadview expansion also will be completed this summer, according to a news release.

__BRUNE JOINS FIRST STATE COMMUNITY BANK__

Jeff Brune was named business development specialist at First State Community Bank in Cape Girardeau. A Cape Girardeau native, he graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history. His recent work experience includes positions at The Airseeder Guys, SoutheastHEALTH, Northwestern Mutual and Cape Girardeau Transit Authority.

__NEW CEO NAMED FOR SIKESTON CHAMBER, DED__

SIKESTON, Mo. — The Sikeston Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Sikeston Area Economic Development Corp. announced that Barry Sellers is the organization’s new CEO, the Sikeston Standard Democrat reported. Sellers worked most recently as economic development director for the Sherwood, Arkansas, Chamber of Commerce and began his position in Sikeston on July 1. He is in charge of the Sikeston Regional Chamber and Sikeston Economic Development office, which have been combined for the first time. Sellers previously was president/CEO/ED of the Gulf County Economic Development Alliance, including the Gulf County Chamber of Commerce and the Port St. Joe Port Authority, in Port St. Joe, Florida. He also is president and owner of Sellers Marketing PR Inc.

Ken Volkerding of Jackson, a financial representative at Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, was named District Representative of the Month for June. He has been with the company since November 2004.

Kelly Darby of Jackson, a financial representative at Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, was Life Leader in the Missouri East Region for June. She also was Life Application Leader in the Missouri East Region for June. She has worked at Modern Woodmen since November 2014.

The Printing Co. added Cheryl Sullivan and Mike Tenholder to its sales team. Sullivan previously worked at Concord Printing Services for 35 years. Before Concord, she worked at Southeast Missouri State University. Her background is in building customer relations, sales, print and direct mail. Tenholder spent 29 years at Concord Printing/Rust Communications. He has an extensive background in graphic design, offset and digital print management, and direct mail. Sullivan and Tenholder both are working in The Printing Co.’s Cape Girardeau office at 112 S. Broadview St.

__RECKER RETIRES FROM POWER PLANT__

NEW MADRID, Mo. — Ted Recker retired from Associated Electric Cooperative’s New Madrid Power Plant after 27 years, according to a news release. He began working at New Madrid in 1988 as a temporary worker and eventually advanced to his current job as a chemical lab technician.

__JACKSON PROMOTED AT SOUTHERN BANK__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Mel Jackson was promoted to community bank president at Southern Bank in Poplar Bluff. He has worked at the bank since 2008 and brings more than 26 years of banking and financial experience to his new role. He previously served as a senior vice president and commercial loan officer at the bank.

SIKESTON, Mo. — John Leible, vice president at First State Bank and Trust Co. Inc., received agricultural lending certification from the University of Missouri Extension Center. The Agriculture Lenders School, a service provided by the University of Missouri, provides in-depth training in agricultural finance for lenders seeking to make good loan decisions in today’s market, according to a news release. Topics included an introduction to agricultural financial statements, keys to agricultural credit analysis, communicating with farmer clients, legal review and lien documentation and more.
