KENNETT, Mo. -- Kennett native and Grammy-nominated recording artist David Nail is in the midst of a string of tours in support of his fourth full-length album, "Fighter," which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard charts after its release July 15.

Nail is wrapping up a three-week headlining tour across the West Coast. In between shows, he routinely has performed the national anthem or thrown out the first pitch for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds.

The official "Fighter" tour will start this fall, kicking off Sept. 8 at the famous Blue Note music venue in Columbia, Missouri. The tour will continue across the country, including stops in Chicago; Las Vegas; Springfield, Missouri; New York City; and the "Intersection" in Grand Rapids, where parts of his "Turning Home" video were filmed.

Nail also will perform at the Grand Ole Opry on Sept. 20.

"Fighter" is the latest in a string of successes for the local musician-turned-Nashville heavyweight. His latest effort has earned praise for several songs, including his recent top-20 hit "Night's on Fire" and the song "Babies," which details life with newborn twins welcomed to the world by Nail and his wife, Catherine.

"I truly believe this album, from top to bottom, is the first time I have been able to tell my story in real time of where I am right now as an artist, a husband and a father," Nail said in a release announcing his latest effort. "I wrote more songs for this album than I have for any of my other three, so it's already more personal. 'Fighter' speaks to my journey, my life and now to where I am personally and professionally."

The album includes collaborations with country music legend Vince Gill and Brothers Osborne and "Old Man's Symphony," which is based on remembrances of his father, Dennis Nail.

All photography for the "Fighter" album was shot at locations around Kennett and the immediate area. Nail's latest release may be purchased at various locations, including physical copies at Wal-Mart, digital copies on iTunes, Amazon Music and Google Play stores or on Nail's website, davidnail.com.
