Southeast Missouri State CB Mike Ford named to preseason All-America team

Southeast Missouri State’s Mike Ford was named Thursday to the 2016 HERO Sports Preseason Football Championship Subdivision All-America Team.

Ford, a junior cornerback, was one of six Ohio Valley Conference players named to the team, earning second-team honors.

A native of Alton, Illinois, Ford was a second team All-OVC selection during his first year as a starter last season. He finished with 44 tackles — 32 solo — and had five interceptions and seven pass breakups.

Murray State’s KD Humphries, Tennessee State’s Jessamen Dunker, Jacksonville State’s Casey Dunn and Darius Jackson and Eastern Kentucky’s Keith Wrzuszczak also represented the OVC.
