WENTZVILLE, Mo. -- Francis Paul Hanlon, 93, of Wentzville passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at Delmar Gardens of O'Fallon in O'Fallon, Missouri.

He was born March 31, 1923, in St. Louis to the late Francis Bernard and Mary Ethel Montgomery Hanlon.

Paul owned and operated F.P. Hanlon floor-laying company in St. Louis for many years. He belonged to St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Maryland Heights, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a gun crewman with the light artillery 844 in Central Europe. He loved to help his family and to go fishing with family and friends.

Survivors include one brother, William "Bill" (Emma) Hanlon of Delta; three nephews, Paul (Chris) Hanlon of Wentzville, Mike (Linda) Hanlon of St. Louis and Bill (Becky) Hanlon of Chaffee, Missouri; and a niece, Victoria (Larry) Raftery of Valparaiso, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, celebrated by the Rev. Randy Tochtrop.

Burial will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee. The Missouri Honors Team will do a full military service.
