ADVANCE, Mo. -- Chester Eugene Shockney, 61, of Advance passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 25, 1954, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of David and Winfred Featherstone Shockney. Chester was a retired truck driver. He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing with his family and friends...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Chester Eugene Shockney, 61, of Advance passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 25, 1954, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of David and Winfred Featherstone Shockney.

Chester was a retired truck driver. He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Survivors include three daughters, Erin (Scott) Harp of Nixa, Missouri, LeahAnn (Toby) Rodgers of Advance and Brandi (Eric) Wade of Zalma, Missouri; a brother, John Shockney of Kokomo; and nine grandchildren, Joshua Shockney, Danielle Palmer, Jessica Harp, Taylor Rodgers, Kadon Rodgers, Baileigh Meadows, Samantha Shockney, Jake Wade and Caden Wade.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Shockney; a sister, Mary Nay; and two nephews, Christopher Shockney and David Chaney.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral service will be at 5 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Revs. Tommy Miller and Gavin Page officiating.
