Whether you go for the concerts, carnival rides, foods, or any of the various competitions from livestock to tractor pulls, the next several days are sure to be a good time.

The annual SEMO District Fair gets underway Saturday morning and runs for the next eight days at the Arena Park fairgrounds. Admission for adults and children 12 and older are $5, with weekly passes sold for $30. There will be a special promotion Tuesday -- two admissions for the price of one -- and Thursday -- $3 admission.

The kickoff parade is set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Capaha Park and traveling to the fairgrounds.

There will be plenty of free things to do, including various events in the activities tent each day.

Grandstand events include:

  • Antique Tractor Pull and Auto Tire & Parts Dual Demo Derby Saturday
  • Heartland Barrel Racing Sunday
  • Grace Reliant Health Services Heartland Idol by River Radio Monday
  • LeCrae concert Tuesday
  • Old Dominion concert Wednesday
  • Oak Ridge Boys concert Thursday
  • DeWitt Auction Company/D&S Salvage Hot Rod Truck and Tractor Pull Friday and Saturday
