CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ervin S. Glueck, 89, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 27, 1927, in Kelso, Missouri, to the late Bernard and Hermina Catherine LeGrand Glueck. He married Joanna Kluesner on June 19, 1954, and she preceded him in death April 11, 1999...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ervin S. Glueck, 89, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 27, 1927, in Kelso, Missouri, to the late Bernard and Hermina Catherine LeGrand Glueck. He married Joanna Kluesner on June 19, 1954, and she preceded him in death April 11, 1999.

Ervin retired as an operator for Spartech Plastic Inc. in Cape Girardeau and a self-employed farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee and was a member of the St. Ambrose Men's Club.

Survivors include three sons, Richard (Therese) Glueck of Scott City and David (Karen) Glueck and Steven (Anita) Glueck, both of Chaffee; two daughters, Judy (Ron) Wood of St. Louis and Mary (Pat) Ogilvie of Hermosa Beach, California; one sister, Helen Eeftink of Hazelwood, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Glueck; a sister, Delphine Gosche; and a grandson, Dallas Glueck.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee. Missouri Honors will do a full military service.
