Rusby Leimbach, 64, of Jackson is now at rest in the arms of his Savior. He passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Jackson Manor.

He was born Sept. 11, 1952, in Cape Girardeau to Edward G. and Esther E. Koeberl Leimbach. He and Brenda Cook-Crites were married Sept. 14, 1996, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.

Rusby grew up on the family farm near Pocahontas. He was baptized, confirmed and was a longtime active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, serving as a trustee and on the finance committee. In 2001, he transferred his membership to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Rusby was a 1970 graduate of Jackson High School. Thereafter, he joined the Missouri National Guard and worked at Gene Leimbach Auto Repair in Jackson, while attending Southeast Missouri State University. He worked for Landgraf Construction; Overhead Door in Jackson; and 23 years at Procter & Gamble, retiring in February 2013. After retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle on his farm near Pocahontas.

Loving survivors include his wife of 20 years, Brenda of Jackson; a daughter, Tammy Crites of Jackson; a brother, Larry (Gail) Leimbach of Jackson; a sister, Marian (Brad) McKee of Cape Girardeau; three aunts, Jeri (the late Gene) Leimbach of Jackson, Melba (the late Rudolph) Leimbach of Jackson and Lorene (the late Mel) Aurich of St. Louis; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Von) Ridings of Cape Girardeau, Linda (Don) Rodgers of Jackson and Peggy (Mark) Culbertson of Jackson; and six brothers-in-law, Ray (Betty) Cook of Chaffee, Glen (Mary Ellen) Cook of Cape Girardeau, W.D. (Debbie) Cook of Chaffee, Missouri, Larry (Janet) Cook of Chaffee, Bill Cook of Delta and Rick (Vicki) Cook of Whitewater; Brenda's sisters-in-law, Janet (Terry) Wessell, previously married to the late Jim Cook, and Carolyn (the late Wayne) Ludwig of Jackson, and their daughters, Julie (Todd) Rushing, Amy (Bill) Ramsey and their families; an honorary cousin, Shirley Kessler of Jackson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Brenda's parents, Roy and Stella Cook and several aunts and uncles.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Radio Broadcast, St. Paul Lutheran Church or the donor's choice of church or charity.
