Ida Mae Jordan, 89, of Jackson died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 12, 1927, in Hardinville, Illinois, to Samuel Scott and Bertha Maude Beabout Otey. She and the Rev. Ernest Jordan were married April 21, 1946, at Oblong, Illinois. He passed away Feb. 21, 2013.

She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau, where the Rev. Jordan pastored for more than 30 years. During those years, Ida Mae served as the church secretary.

Ida Mae was very supportive of her husband's ministry and very involved in missions and ministry herself. She was active with Church Women United, Mary Martha Circle, Friendship Circle and the UCC group. She had a heart for all kinds of missions and supported them with her giving and praying.

Ida Mae was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Her loving survivors include a son, Ronald (Dee) Jordan of Pensacola, Florida, and two daughters, Denise (Jose) Izaguirre of Overland Park, Kansas, and Tina (Patrick) Abbott of Jackson. She also is survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Dan Johnson and the Rev. Jeff Long officiating. Private burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Red Cross or Eden Seminary Scholarship Fund in Webster Groves, Missouri.
