Perryville, Missouri, firefighters still were putting out a fire at Atlas Roofing late Friday morning after it started Thursday night, according to public information officer Jeri Cain.

Highly flammable roofing materials allowed the fire to spread quickly, and it spread to other buildings, Cain said.

Employees were inside, but escaped the burning building without injuries, Cain said.

Initial reports from employees indicated the fire started in the break room.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the fire Friday.

Several agencies provided mutual aid to Perryville firefighters, Cain said.
