CHAFFEE, Mo. — Gracie Iona Givens, 94, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 3, 1922, to the late Lawrence and Lou Surface McCulley. Gracie worked for Advance Shoe Factory in Advance, Missouri, for five years. She also worked for and retired from Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau. After retirement, she worked part-time for Delta schools...

CHAFFEE, Mo. — Gracie Iona Givens, 94, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 3, 1922, to the late Lawrence and Lou Surface McCulley.

Gracie worked for Advance Shoe Factory in Advance, Missouri, for five years. She also worked for and retired from Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau. After retirement, she worked part-time for Delta schools.

Gracie was a member of New Life Full Gospel Church in Scott City.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Wayne Givens of Scott City; two daughters, Lela Lorine Welker of Chaffee and Debra Jean Anglin of Gipsy, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Leon Givens and James Leon Givens; two daughters, Martha Lou Dunn and Stella Louise Taylor; five brothers; and three sisters.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Jack Owens, assisted by Gene Peacock. Burial will be at Kenyon Cemetery in Delta.
