Donald Ray Johnson, 82, of Scott City died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Washington Park, Illinois, to George Washington and Thelma Willimina Faulkner Johnson. He married Kay F. Knupp on May 8, 1960, in Scott City.

Don was an engineer for the Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City, and he served in the Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Johnson; a son, Bob (Kelli) Johnson of Fenton, Missouri; two daughters, Donna (Ray) Campbell of Scott City and Tracie (Art) Hom of St. Peters, Missouri; a brother, Glenn Johnson of Austin, Texas; a sister, Anna Lou LaTurner of Kansas City, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jeremy Sells officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery with full military honors.
