KENNETT, Mo. — A suspect charged with murder in Dunklin County was granted a change of venue, with further hearings set for New Madrid County.
Josue Rivera’s request was granted Tuesday, with this first hearing in New Madrid County set for 1 p.m. Dec. 27.
Rivera is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action after the shooting death of Francisco Mendez on Aug. 21.
The New Madrid County Jail is not holding inmates, so Rivera is being held without bond at the Pemiscot County Jail.
