Geraldine Brotherton

Geraldine E. Brotherton, 91, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, daughter of Aaron and Bertha (Seabaugh) Seabaugh. She and Cecil Brotherton were married May 11, 1946, in Jackson. They had been married 62 years when Cecil passed away Oct. 28, 2008.

Geraldine worked at the former shoe factory in Jackson. She was a longtime member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Jackson. She was a homemaker and especially enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.

Loving survivors include three children, Wayne (Lesa) Brotherton of Millersville, Shiela (Jerry) Tuschhoff of Cape Girardeau and Sherri (Randy) Statler of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, Todd (Viktoriia) Brotherton and children, Addylynn and Oleksander, of Jackson; Jamie Brotherton and fiance, Kyle, of Shelbyville, Tennessee; Lucas Tuschhoff of Cape Girardeau; Dusty Statler of Chicago; and Rusty (Paige) Statler and children, Bella and Carter, of Oak Ridge; and a sister-in-law, Helen Cook of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and three sisters.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

The family suggests memorials take the form of contributions to New McKendree United Methodist Church or Jackson Manor with a memo for the Activities Fund.
