MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Daniel "Danny" Joseph VanGennip, 56, of Marble Hill passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Oct. 26, 1960, at Cape Girardeau, the son of Norman and Imogene Stowers VanGennip. He and Olga Rodriguez were united in marriage Sept. 6, 2003, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance, Missouri.
Danny worked for nine years at Crader Distributing in the warehouse. He was a Woodland School Board member from 2002 to 2014, a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended the Harmony Congregational Methodist Church.
He was also the fourth generation to operate the VanGennip Family Farm, where they farm row crops and cattle.
Survivors include his wife, Olga VanGennip of the home; his father, Norman VanGennip of Marble Hill; sons, Lance (Betsy) VanGennip and Tyler VanGennip, both of Marble Hill, and Billy Dean (Lori) Bollinger of Leopold, Missouri; sisters, Beverly (Johnny) Johnson of Marble Hill and Cathy Probst of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Elise Bollinger, twins John and Triston Bollinger, Chett VanGennip, Brayden Bollinger, Clate VanGennip and Mia Bollinger; and many other family members and friends.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Imogene VanGennip; and his twin brother, David VanGennip.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harmony Congregational Methodist Church near Marble Hill.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Greg Burns and Bud Armstrong and Don James officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.
