Billy Jack Foust, 89, of Gordonville died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 9, 1927, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Newton and Bessie Helton Foust. He and Betty J. Rose were married Nov. 30, 1947, at Mount Vernon, Illinois. She preceded him in death Oct. 13, 1988...

Billy Jack Foust, 89, of Gordonville died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 9, 1927, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Newton and Bessie Helton Foust. He and Betty J. Rose were married Nov. 30, 1947, at Mount Vernon, Illinois. She preceded him in death Oct. 13, 1988.

Jack was a 1946 graduate of Centralia High School in Centralia, Illinois. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Wetterau Foods for 36 years.

Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids at the family cabin during hunting season.

Survivors include a son, Jackie (Donna Scott) Foust of Overland, Missouri; a daughter, Connie Hurd of Creal Springs, Illinois; four grandchildren, Brian (Lisa) Foust, Michael (Amy) Hurd, Heather (Dwayne) Schott and Timothy (Valerie) Foust; 15 great-grandchildren, and longtime friend, Sylvia Graff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Cherry Strunk.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
