Denise Merideth, 48, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 14, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Mary Jane Mitchell Wilson Steward and stepfather Larry Steward, who survive of Sikeston, Missouri, and the late Dennis Wilson.

On Aug. 31, 1996, she married Don Merideth, who preceded her in death July 22, 2010.

She was a self-employed hairstylist at Karen Oliver and Co. in Cape Girardeau.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Allen Scott Findley of Cape Girardeau; a brother, J.D. Steward of Scott City; paternal grandmother, Ada Wilson of Sikeston; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Along with her father and husband, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, J.M. Wilson, and her maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Etta Mitchell.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at noon Friday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Roy Merideth will officiate.
