McGEE, Mo. -- Vernita Payne, 64, of McGee passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, after an extended battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 2, 1953, at McGee, the daughter of Raleigh and Versie Williams Payne.
Vernita retired from Arvin in Dexter, Missouri. She was a member of McGee New Hope Church.
Survivors include her longtime companion, Gene Findley of McGee; three brothers, Walter Payne and George Payne, both of McGee, and Gary Payne of Puxico, Missouri; and four sisters, Novella Robins of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Louise Duniphan of McGee, Sharon Markham of Advance, Missouri, and Shirley Crews of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronald Payne; and two sisters, Odeta Duniphan and Ruby Payne.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McGee New Hope Cemetery in McGee.
Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
