Eagles to host Valentine's dinner

A Valentine's Day dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Eagles Lodge No. 3775, 321 N. Spring Ave. in Cape Girardeau. The dinner will cost $20 and will include pork loin and grilled chicken with sides, appetizers and desserts. Music provided by the Ivas John Band will start at 8 p.m., and the door will open at 7:30 p.m. for $7 for those interested in listening to some music without the dinner.

KC to host Valentine's dinner

The annual Knights of Columbus Valentine's Day Dance will begin with drinks at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the KC Hall, 28745 U.S. 61 in Scott City. Tickets cost $110 per couple and include drinks beginning at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and dancing until midnight. Prizes will be awarded, including $6,000 in cash prizes plus many other prize items. VFW Valentine's Day dinner and dance set

VFW Post 3838 will host a Valentine's Day dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at the hall, 1049 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. Rocky and the Tailgaters will provide musical entertainment starting at 8 p.m. Tickets will be available at the Canteen, $15 each or $25 per couple. Valentine dance to be held Saturday

Downhome Entertainment at Tunes and Tutus LLC presents A Valentine Dance with Classy Chassy Country and special guest Elvis Again from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the business, 129 W. Yoakum Ave. in Chaffee, Missouri. The event will include door prizes, a trivia contest and concessions, will be family friendly and will have no smoking or alcohol. Dinner to be at Knights of Columbus Hall

The Jackson Knights of Columbus will host a chicken-and-dumpling and kettle-beef dinner with mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, hot rolls, slaw and dessert from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Jackson Knights of Columbus Hall, 3305 N. High St., Jackson.

Play auditions to be Sunday

Southeast Missouri State University's Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts will hold auditions for "Greater Tuna" and "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Rust Flexible Theatre at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. Auditions are open to the general public, and all positions include a small salary. "Greater Tuna" is seeking two male actors and "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is seeking adults, including five men and four women. For more information, contact Kenneth L. High-school exhibit to be at River Campus

The Southeast Missouri State University High School Art Exhibit will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the River Campus Crisp Museum, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. An award ceremony will take place at 3 p.m.

Red Light Night announced

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will host this season's first Red Light Night with the topic "Who Rescued Whom? The Art of Depression and Dogs," featuring visual artist Caitlin Kennedy, at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Arts Council, 16 N. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau. Kennedy is a BFA ceramics major at Southeast Missouri State University, originally from St. Louis, and aspires to join the Rapid Response Art Theft Division of the FBI after completing a master's and Ph.D. in art history. Please note, topics and discussion are intended for a mature audience. The Arts Council is always pet friendly.
